Chaffee County
Chaffee County was established in 1879 and is located in central Colorado. Its population, according to the 2000 U.S. Census is 16,703. The three incorporated towns of Salida (the county seat), Poncha Springs and Buena Vista and their surrounding areas make up much of the population. Chaffee County is part of the upper Arkansas River valley watershed and is bordered by the Continental Divide to the west. |
